Welcome to our new blog! I am Craig Blakeley, with Alliance Law Group LLC, located in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. Together with my colleague, Jeff Matsuura, also with ALG, we have created this blog to provide a forum for the exchange of views on our topic area: Global Information Technology Law.
We chose this name because it matches the name of our book, "Global Information Technology Law," which was published at the end of 2010 by West Publishing, an arm of Thomson Reuters. The book covers legal, regulatory and policy issues related to telecommunications, Internet, e-commerce, e-government, and intellectual property in 22 countries. We have just finished the update for the book, which will be published later in 2011. The update not only reflects developments in the original 22 countries but also adds coverage of an additional country (New Zealand). In addition, the update will provide contact information for relevant government ministries and agencies in the various countries discussed in the book.
From time to time we will be posting new information or discussion topics on this blog. Anyone is welcome to post comments. In addition, we invite other qualified individuals world-wide to serve as authors on this blog. However, in order to maintain our discussion at an appropriate level, you will need to identify yourself and request authorization from us in order to do so. Please e-mail Craig at cblakeley@alliancelawgroup.com with the subject line "GITL Blog" and provide a bit of background about yourself such as your current position, your interest in ITC, etc. If we believe that you have the background and/or experience to make a useful contribution to the discussion on this blog, we will authorize you as an author on the blog and will let you know by e-mail. This will let you post topics of your own relevant to Global Information Technology Law and initiate discussions on those topics. However, as noted above, anyone can post comments.
Thanks again for your interest. We look forward to your comments and participation.
